Ek Aur.
ONE MORE
The Reels and Shorts counter that cheers you on for one more — while the number quietly turns you in.
No lectures, no streaks to protect, no wellness sermon. A floating counter over Instagram and YouTube, a dry roast every milestone, and a meme when you hit the limit you set. The graph does the judging.
Most apps beg you to stop. Ek Aur doesn't. It hands you the number — out loud — and lets you decide whether that's a flex or a cry for help.
A meme at your limit. Not a lecture.
Pick a number. When today's count hits it, a meme drops in over the feed. Take the break, or tap “10 More” and it'll be back. You set the limit, the app just keeps the joke going.
It counts. It roasts. It never lectures.
Everything happens on your phone. The only thing that ever leaves is your name and a daily total, and only if you want on the leaderboard.
A counter that floats
A little pill rides over Instagram and ticks up with every reel. The face gets more cooked as the number climbs.
An honest dashboard
Today, the last seven days, your worst day ever. No goals, no guilt — the bars say plenty.
One global leaderboard
Everyone who installs it is on one list, ranked on today's Reels and Shorts. Filter to just one app. No adding friends, no join step.
Milestone roasts
Round numbers, the small hours, and the numbers that are only funny on the dot: 69, 99, 420, and Kohli's 973. Once a day, never a nag.
Payments stay clean
A bank app hates any accessibility service. So Ek Aur switches itself off the moment you leave Instagram — payments just work.
Yours, on your phone
Raw scrolls and which videos you watched never leave the device. It can't read the screen — just the swipe.
Three taps to set up. Then it just runs.
Live simulations, not screenshots — this is exactly what the app does.
Flip three switches
Grant accessibility (to see the swipe), overlay (to float the counter), and usage access (so it can switch off for payments). A progress bar walks you through it.
- Guided, one-time — the app checks each grant for you
- It reads the swipe, never the screen or your messages
- The moment it's done, the counter goes live
Then just scroll
Open Instagram and forget it's there. Every reel bumps the pill; the face gets more cooked as the number climbs; a dry line lands at the milestones.
- One swipe, one count — feed scrolling never counts
- Double-tap the pill to jump into the app
- Drag it anywhere it's in your way
Build a card to dunk with
One tap turns today into a clean, gradient share card — your number, your week, and a dare. It links straight to the download, so your friends have no excuse.
- Ready instantly, share anywhere
- The dare scales with how cooked you are
- The link points to the latest build
Counts YouTube Shorts too.
Half of you said “I don't use Reels.” Cool. Switching apps doesn't get you off the leaderboard any more. Pick Instagram, YouTube or both in Setup.
One number
Reels and Shorts go into the same count, the same pill and the same roasts. Home shows the split, so you know which app took the afternoon.
Dresses to match
Only Reels? The Instagram gradient. Only Shorts? A Shorts red. Both? A mix. It follows what you count, or pick one yourself.
Race on one app
The leaderboard ranks everyone on the total, with a switch to race on just Reels or just Shorts. Tap it.
Already installed? The app updates itself: open it, tap Count Shorts on Home, or switch it on in Setup → Apps.
Installing it (the honest version)
Ek Aur isn't on the Play Store. It's a hobby app you sideload, so Android shows a couple of scary-looking warnings on the way in. They're expected, and each one takes seconds.
Pause Play Protect, install, done.
Play Protect blocks apps from outside the Play Store that ask for accessibility, which is how Ek Aur sees a swipe. Pausing it lets the install through, and it switches itself back on the next day.
“Restricted setting”? Tap once, allow, switch on.
Android 13 and newer lock the accessibility switch for apps that didn't come from the Play Store. The unlock is hidden in App info, and it only shows up after you've tried the switch once.
Then a few small things
Once it's installed, the app's guided setup walks you through the rest. Here's what to expect, in case you get stuck.
Google flags anything sideloaded that can see the screen — not because Ek Aur does anything shady (it can't read your screen, only the swipe), but because it didn't come from the Play Store. Same reason a Play-installed app never gets flagged and this one does.
Allow “install unknown apps”
When your browser or Files app asks, allow it to install. You only do this once per app.
Then, two switches in the app
Accessibility (how Reels and Shorts get counted) and Overlay (so the counter can float). The app's guided setup takes you to each one and notices when it's on.
“App not installed”? It's a downgrade
That just means a newer build is already on your phone. Grab the newest file — the Download button up top always points to it.
After that, it updates itself
Ek Aur checks this same release page and offers a one-tap update — you never chase APKs again.
Questions, answered
The stuff people actually ask before installing.
What is Ek Aur?
Ek Aur is a free Android app that counts your Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts with a little floating counter. It cheers you on for one more — while the number quietly turns you in. You get an honest dashboard, a global leaderboard, and a dry roast at every milestone. No lectures.
Does it count YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Ek Aur counts Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts into the same number, and you choose which ones in Setup. It even changes its look to match: Instagram colours, Shorts red, or a mix of both. It only sees the swipe in those two apps — never the screen, never any other app. Already installed? Update, then tap Count Shorts on Home or switch it on in Setup → Apps.
What are scroll reminders?
Pick a number on Home — say 100. When today's Reels + Shorts hit it, a meme pops up over the feed. Take a break closes Instagram or YouTube for you; “10 More” (or 20, 30, 50 — your pick) brings it back that many later; Not today quiets it until midnight. It's off until you switch it on.
Is Ek Aur free?
Yes, completely free. No ads, no subscription, no account required to just count — you only pick a username if you want to appear on the global leaderboard.
Does it read my screen or my messages?
No. It can only see the swipe gesture that moves to the next reel — never the screen, your DMs, or what you're watching. The only thing about you that ever leaves your phone is your name and a daily total, for the leaderboard. (With scroll reminders on, the app also fetches memes from GIPHY — the request carries nothing about you.)
Why isn't it on the Play Store?
It's a hobby app you sideload directly. Android throws a couple of scary-looking warnings for anything not from the Play Store — they're expected, and the install guide walks you past Play Protect and the 'install unknown apps' prompt in a few taps.
It says “Restricted setting” and I can't turn on accessibility. Now what?
That's Android 13+ guarding the accessibility switch for any app not from the Play Store — expected, and it clears in three taps. Tap the Ek Aur switch once and press OK on the popup. Then open the app's App info page (Settings → Apps → Ek Aur), tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right and choose “Allow restricted settings”. Go back to Accessibility and switch it on. If you can't see the ⋮ item, it's because it only appears after that first tap on the switch — close Settings from Recents, tap the switch, press OK, and open App info again. The app's guided setup walks you through exactly this, with a button for every step.
Will it interfere with my banking or UPI apps?
No. Ek Aur switches itself off automatically the moment you leave Instagram, so payment apps that dislike accessibility services just work. You tap it back on when you want to scroll.
How does the leaderboard work?
Everyone who installs Ek Aur is on one global leaderboard, ranked on today's Reels and Shorts together, with a filter to race on just one. There's nothing to join and nobody to add — pick a username and you're racing. You can hide yourself any time.
Which Android versions are supported?
Android 8.0 and newer. The app is about 14 MB and updates itself from within the app once installed.
One more won't hurt.
Get the counter that agrees with you — out loud — and let the number do the arguing.
Got feedback, a bug, or a wild idea?
Ek Aur is a hobby app made by one person — so real emails get real replies. Send a bug, a feature you want, or just tell me the leaderboard ruined your sleep schedule.
